Class of Heroes and Class of Heroes 2 have similar game flows as the original Might & Magic. Everything is pain and just getting to places you need to be to START exploring/questing/etc sucks. Then suddenly you hit the breakpoint where your mages get arbitrary map travel and the game becomes fun.
Elminage fixed this by making the overworld menu-travel instead. Later Might & Magic games fixed it with a healthy prevalence of fast travel.
Wizardry never fixed it though so here we are :P
